Oxford Dictionary of National Biography Trial

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

The library has arranged for a trial for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. This is the title we have in print (2004 edition), but the trial is for the electronic version. The trial runs from February 28 to March 29. Here’s what Oxford Publishing has to say about this reference title:

A ground-breaking and engaging reference work providing 50,000 specially-written signed biographies of the men and women who shaped all aspects of the British past, from the earliest times to the end of the year 2000. State-of-the-art search options, extensive internal cross-referencing, access to articles from the original DNB, and navigation by “themes” combine with rigorous research and scholarship to make the Oxford DNB one of the most innovative and important reference sites available online.

To access the Dictionary, just use this link:
http://www.oxforddnb.com. It should work any where on campus (and in Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, and Boise), so please let me know if you have any problems getting in.

‘Tis the Season for….Taxes!

Friday, January 11th, 2008

And the library can help with some of the common tax forms. Near the circulation desk there is a shelf for the 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ booklets and forms, plus the Idaho tax booklets. Nearby there is a shelf for some of the other common forms: Schedule 1, Schedule 2, Schedule A, the Education Credits form, and many more.

If this doesn’t provide the all the forms you need, you can also go to the web site and download the form: click on the appropriate link: Internal Revenue Service, Idaho State Tax Commission, and here for other states tax form list, if you were a part-year resident in another state.
