Oboler Library is pleased to announce that our Web of Science subscription has been reinstated and upgraded to include all 3 modules, i.e., Science, Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities. This makes us full Web of Knowledge users, and access to 2012 content is now available.
The web page is in the process of being updated to reflect the changes.
Everyone wants an easier way to search for library information. The Oboler Library is pleased to announce that we are in the early stages of implementing the exciting new search tool PRIMO that is designed to streamline the entire search process for our users.
The user-friendly interface will search the library’s catalog, the majority of the library’s databases, digital collections, and open access academic content on the Internet. It will retrieve the results from all of the resources in relevance-ranked order and provide multiple options for listing the results by material type, subject, date, location, and more. PRIMO’s greatest advantage is the ability to search within so much academic content at one time.
PRIMO will be ready for testing this summer and will be fully integrated into the Library’s webpage and the Library’s instruction curriculum for the Fall 2012 semester.

Our very own Traci Morgan is showing her paintings in the Current Display Art Area of Oboler Library during the months of April through June 1. She is a senior art student at ISU. Her pieces were recently featured in the Annual Undergraduate Art Exhibition and Scholarship Competition.
“I have been creating art since I was a little kid. Drawing and painting allows me to express my feelings and emotions in a way that words never can. Painting is very therapeutic for me and I love it. My fascination with art lies within the human figure. Body language expresses emotions more than words ever could. The human figure is curvilinear, beautiful and it can create a mood by body language alone. While making art, I aim to create an expression the viewer can relate to through his or her life experiences. I strive to convey an emotional understanding with the viewer in my artwork. “
Autism awareness is the topic of the IHSL display for the month of April. It is located on the 3rd floor of the Oboler Library. Browse a selection of books from the Oboler collection and learn more. Click here to view a fact sheet from the National Institutes of Health.
