Works best if students take the Academic Integrity Tutorial before coming to class. This tutorial includes a quiz that can be graded for credit, which is available via Moodle upon request.
Yes   No   Tour of the Eli M. Oboler Library ................................. 25 minutes
Provides an opportunity for students to see the library’s layout and the variety of resources. They also learn about the services offered and procedures for checking out materials, using study rooms, asking for help at the Reference Desk, and much more.
Yes   No   Locate a Book in the Library ...................................... 25 minutes
Allows students to find a book in the catalog and on the shelves—a favorite among freshmen filled with anxiety about the library. This involves a discussion of the Library of Congress Classification System.
Yes   No   Basic Search Strategies ............................................ 25 minutes
Offers tips to help students efficiently find what they need faster. Library instructor can demonstrate strategies with either the catalog and/or the article databases. Works best if students complete the SearchPath Tutorial before coming to class. Quizzes available via Moodle upon request.
Yes   No   Information-Literacy Session .................................... 50 minutes
Introduces students to the library web site, the catalog, and full-text article databases, while presenting a few basic search and evaluation strategies. Comes with a gradable worksheet. Best if students complete the Search Path Tutorial before coming to class.
Yes   No   Oboler Library Jeopardy/Quiz Bowl ............................ 50 minutes
Permits students to have some fun learning more about the library services and resources in a semi-competitive atmosphere. Best after students have filled out an Oboler Library Facts worksheet or completed a scavenger hunt.

Note: If total amount of time exceeds your allotted class time, then a second library session will be necessary, in which case another request form will need to be filled out, unless you already specified two different dates in the “Date(s) Desired” box above as well as two separate “Alternate Date(s)”.
