Paraphrasing

Paraphrasing means taking a passage from another writer's work and rewriting it in your own words. Usually, paraphrasing is used to summarize another writer's arguments or examples.

Rewriting a passage in your own words is more than just rearranging the words into a new order. It means completely rewriting the passage.

Remember, when you paraphrase, you still need to cite the original author whose ideas you are borrowing.
