Toussaint Dubois - Biographical Sketch

Obituary from the Idaho State Journal - December 16, 1982

BLACKFOOT - Toussaint Dubois, 78, died Tuesday night, December 14, at the Eastgate Nursing Home in Pocatello of cancer.

Ms. Dubois was born December 23, 1903, in Washington D.C. to Fred T. Dubois, the first U.S. Senator from the state of Idaho, and Edna Whited Dubois.

Ms. Dubois grew up in Idaho and Washington D.C. She graduated from Columbia University, majoring in journalism. For a time she was a free-lance writer for various Idaho newspapers. Later she was on the National Women's Press Corp in Washington D.C.

In 1928 she married William King Olive in Washington D.C. Mr. Olive died many years ago and Ms. Dubois took back her maiden name.

She moved back to Blackfoot in 1930 and thereafter suffered from ill health. She had been a resident of Eastgate since it was built in 1969.

She is survived by a daughter, Toussaint A. Dubois, Costa Mesa, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Michelle Dubois. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Private funeral services were held under the direction of the Hill-Coltrin-Sandberg Funeral Home. Burial was in the family plot in the Grove City Cemetery.
