Esther W. Yarber died May 1, 1992, at a local nursing home following an illness.
She was born April 12, 1914, in Obion County, Tennessee, the daughter of Frederick Frank and Dora Prudence Terry Ferguson. She received her early education in Illinois and Pocatello, later attending Idaho State University.
She married Lyman Yarber July 23, 1935, in Herrin, Illinois. They lived in Pocatello since 1956.
In her earlier years, she was a member of the Idaho Press Women. She was also a member of OES, Radiant Chapter No. 61, and attended the First Baptist Church. Esther was well known as an Idaho writer, and published two books, "Land of the Yankee Fork" and "Stanley Sawtooth Country." She wrote articles for several newspapers, and especially enjoyed historical writings.
She is survived by her husband, Lyman, of Pocatello; a sister, Margaret Crouson, of Auburn, Calif.; and six nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
