1880Appointed delegate to Republican National Convention
1889Appointed Idaho Territorial Governor by President Harrison
1890 Elected first Governor of the State of Idaho, October 1st
1891Elected as Idaho's first United States Senator, serving for 4 years, March 3rd
1894Re-elected to United States Senate, serving until 1900
1904George Shoup died, December 21st
