Scope and Content
Dr. Dorothy Faris was a professor of microbiology at Idaho State University for 39 years. This collection consists of her office files. There is very little of her personal life featured.
Dr. Faris joined the ISU faculty in 1927 when it was the University of Idaho Southern Branch. She retired from Idaho State University in 1966. The collection covers this time period. She was involved in several research projects and established an award for the outstanding student majoring in microbiology.
Dr. Faris was active on the ISU Commencement Committee and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa sorority.
The collection consists of 17 five inch manuscript boxes or approximately 8 linear feet, however, 6 of the boxes contain graded student material and are restricted due to Federal regulations.
